Poems I Like
The main purpose of this page is to keep the poems I really like at hand so I can always find them, after a very difficult search online for "The Farmer's Boy" that still didn't end up with the exact version I knew.
The Farmer's Boy
They walked the lane together
The sky was studded in stars
They reached the gate in silence
He lifted for her the bars
She didn't smile nor thank him
Because she knew not how
For he was just a farmer's boy
And she was a Jersey cow
I heard this originally on a free cassette I obtained way back when of a Newfie comedy duo named Mick and Jim. They do not seem to exist on the internet, but fortunately for me they didn't write the poem!
I Eat My Peas With Honey
I eat my peas with honey
I've done it all my life
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on my knife
I read this in a book of poems as a kid and it's never left my mind since.
After Bombardment, Sonya

This is my favourite poem of all time.
